Transpersonal Therapy
I've been working with clients for over ten years, and my approach has continually evolved. My primary training is in a psycho-spiritual model of therapy, which means I see clients not just as individuals with problems but as unique souls on a meaningful journey.
In my practice, I use a holistic and flexible approach called psychosynthesis. I believe therapy should adapt to meet each client’s needs. This means our sessions might sometimes involve deep discussions on concepts and theories, while at other times, we may focus more on emotions, or imagery, or something which feels more ‘coach-like’ in style. Throughout, I remain attentive to my clients’ experiences of embodiment.
I am deepening my interest in the body and pursuing training in body psychotherapy and somatic trauma work. As our understanding of trauma continues to develop and the historical split between mind and body lessens, I feel it is becoming increasingly impossible to exclude the body from the therapy room. You don’t need to have any prior knowledge or interest in this; often, you may not even notice my curiosity about our shared embodiment.
During sessions, I might occasionally draw attention to your breathing or how it feels to sit in your chair. I’ll always prioritise what feels safe and comfortable for you, ensuring our work together remains collaborative. My interest in embodiment also reflects my passion for health, which led me to complete an 8-week training in intrinsic health.
Sessions are held in a garden studio at my home, with a view out on to my garden. I find the connection with nature and the outdoors is an important part of the therapeutic experience and you are welcome to make use of that connection as much or as little as you feel appropriate.
